Good preparation and planning of activities helps to get things come together well, and to be able to concentrate on the actual task. Already 8-10 minutes for a brief planning of the day can make you win up to an hour of effective time – statistically proven !
Consider your own biorhythm while you plan your day, e.g. when you are the most effective for which kind of task. You may put complicated or important things or creative work in the morning, routines or smaller tasks as a series production after lunch etc. Reserve lock waits for undisturbed working, and also “creative” pauses. Only plan for 60% of the day – the rest will fill by its own. Avoid impulsive actions; they mostly have unwanted retroactive effects. Don’t postpone appearing issues; they often can be resolved easier than expected. And “award” yourself with a little, planned success at the day end – that’s good for motivation ! 😉
